6 DAYS GORILLA VS
CHIMPS - UGANDA

Vs Chimps
Of the two,
who do you think has the best interesting behaviors? May be its Gorilla
or Chimpanzee? This trip will exactly answer that. Traverse the western
part of Uganda for a 6 days excursion for Gorilla in Bwindi and Chimpanzee
in Kibale forest. The trip also includes a visit to Queen Elizabeth National
Park that will let you see all different animals and boat cruise.
Day one
Depart
from your Hotel in Kampala early morning at 7.00 am, to head the western
part of Uganda. Your driver will be at your door to pick you up from your
hotel. Drive through Kampala and escape the city to Masaka Road. At 08.30
am, stop at the equator on Masaka road. This is a chance to stand in two
hemispheres of the world simultaneously. Take photographs, a chance for
you to look at beautiful African crafts, not forgetting that you can send
a post card to your friends and tell them that you were on an African safari.
Continue the
journey, arrive in Masaka town for Breakfast, you can have English tea/coffee,
sambusa, what about African bananas, and great Ugandan pineapple. Head
further west, pass through, Lyantonde Township and then through Lake Mburo
National Park. You may have a chance to see the beautiful African Zebras
by the roadside, and popular impala Kobs.
Continue with
the journey through Mbarara town; another stopover here for Lunch. After
lunch continue with the journey going further west, pass through the undulating
landscape of western Uganda, commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa.
A chance to take pictures of all this great African landscape that are
found nowhere on the planet. You will notice the temperature changes as
you are approaching Kabale town and Gorilla land in Bwindi. A short drive
from town, will lead you to one of Africa’s thickest and the greenest environment.
You will arrive in Bwindi park late evening, Check in the Buhoma Safari
Lodge, relax, dinner and overnight

Day Two
Wake
up early morning, by 6.30 am and Breakfast will be ready at 7.00 a.m. At
7.30 am, your Gorilla trekking Guide will conduct a brief lesson on Gorilla
trekking with other trekkers before you set off. Enter the sanctuary and
enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas.
Proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals. You will
move further and enter this unspoiled thick environment to discover the
African natural treasures.
Tour Guides
will discover gorilla and you will indeed enjoy them. Their behaviors are
unique. Gorilla trekking may take 3-6 hours. As you are moving in the trails,
you will listen to music of nature. Birds will be flying and singing, butterflies
of different colors will say hello. Your guide will be with you all the
times to answer any question you may pose and of course to tell you the
dynamics of nature that goes on in Bwindi Impenetrable National park Other
primates also live in the forest including the black-and-white Columbus
monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee. Return to the Accommodation for
dinner and overnight.

Day Three
Depart
early morning after breakfast and head to Queen Elizabeth National park.
This journey will take us 3-4hours. Queen Elizabeth N.P. is one of the
outstanding treasures of Uganda. QENP has recently been designated a Biosphere
Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO. The park covers a remarkable variety
of eco-systems; from semi-deciduous tropical forest to green meadows, savannah
and swamps. It is the home of the famous tree-climbing lions, the Uganda
kob and other antelope as well as elephant, buffalo, hippos, baboons, and
chimpanzee.
Over 500 species
of birds have been recorded here making it prime target for birdwatchers.
Species recorded include the shoebill stork, black bee-eater, 11 types
of kingfishers and a variety of raptors including several falcons and eagles.
In the crater lakes, spectacular flocks of flamingos gather, creating the
image of a moving pink carpet The launch trip along the Kazinga Channel
between Lake George and Edward is a memorable way to view the variety of
game in Queen Elizabeth. North of the main gate is the crater area, one
of the most scenic parts of the park.
To the East,
in Kyambura Gorge, visitors can climb through tropical forest and catch
a glimpse of a variety of primates. In the more isolated Ishasha sector
of the park, search the woodlands for the tree-climbing lions perching
on the boughs of ancient fig trees. To the Southeast, travelers can explore
newly opened trails in Maramagambo forest. Arrive in the park late afternoon
and check in Mweya safari lodge.
The Mweya safari
lodge is a world of its own in the jungle. Located in the middle of the
park besides lake Edward, the lodge is well equipped with luxurious items,
including a resident bar, swimming pool, restaurant. You will relax by
the swimming pool or restaurant while viewing birds, insects and elephants
besides the lake. In the evening you will take an evening game drive to
see animals, return to the lodge, and relax and over night. Accommodation
is all full board.

Day Four
Wake
up early morning, by 6.30 am, the African experience rocks again. Start
a great game drive around the park. You have a wildlife guide with you,
to tell you all about animals. This is a chance to see thousands of wildlife
e.g., Monkeys, hyenas, lions, Elephants, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, and thousands
of beautiful birds. You will have a chance to view up to 604 different
species of birds-the highest number of bird species to be found within
any nature reserve in Africa.
The game drive
takes up to 4 hours around the park. Remember to pass with your Camera
to electronically record this experience. Return for Breakfast at 10.00
a.m. After Breakfast head to a small park museum within the park, to learn
about the history of the park. Relax after a 4-hour drive at the swimming
pool. There is a bar besides the pool to grab a soft drink. After Lunch,
at 3.00 pm, head to shores of Lake George to take one of the most fascinating
boat cruise in the park. This Launch trip starts on Lake Edward and moves
along Kazinga water channel. Other tourists from other countries will join
you.
A guide will
be on the trip to answer every question. Lots of water animals, e.g. Crocodiles,
Hippos, beautiful water birds, water buffalos, 65 year old Elephants, drinking
water by the shores. You will have a chance to see a hippo at a closer
range and say hello. This will be a perfect chance to record your African
experience. The cruise takes two hours after which you will come back,
and if time allows take an evening game drive. Drive back, relax, dinner
and overnight.

Day Five
Depart
to Kibale National Park, after breakfast. This will take you about 2-3-hour
drive from Queen Elizabeth. You will pass by the footsteps of Mount Rwenzori,
the highest mountain ranges in Africa. Proceed through, Kasese town and
fort portal town and later drive to Kibale forest. This park is East African
world of Chimpanzee.
Check in Ndali
lodge and experience African romantic experience. After lunch move to park
headquarters and start your trek in search of Chimpanzee. The park is organized
into trails that will help you walk well in a very fresh environment. The
tour guides will show you the chimpanzee but other primates exist in the
forest. This can take you up to 4 hours. Return to Ndali lodge; relax in
the African Wild, dinner and over night

Day Six
Wake
up by 8 am; take breakfast, and afterwards prepare to travel to Kampala.
Drive out of the park and take a road through several fresh tea
plantations various stops can be done for personal shopping of African
crafts, which are quite cheaper in the countryside unlike Kampala. We shall
arrive in Kampala, in the evening and drive straight to your Hotel
